As a football coach, you must have a passion for the game.

Origins in Scotland

Modern Rules

The game’s modern rules were developed by students from McGill University in 1874. They were inspired by the rules of English rugby and incorporated them into the game. The first game played under this hybrid set of rules took place in Boston between Harvard and McGill universities. While Harvard won the game with American rules, McGill tied it with Canadian ones. This game helped develop both Canadian and American versions of the sport. In 1880, a new rule was added that required teams to line up across an imaginary line of scrimmage. This change separated the game from its rugby cousins.

Game Spread

As the popularity of the game spread, different versions of the game were developed in different areas. In the nineteenth century, the sport became more uniform, with the introduction of codified rules.

Four Acts

Although four acts of parliament were passed in the fifteenth century to ban ‘futeball,’ the sport remained popular and widespread long before its codification in the nineteenth century.

Origins of football in Scotland can be traced back nearly 600 years. It has a rich history in Scotland and has been enjoyed by commoners and monarchs alike.

Footballers

The earliest Scottish footballers were defiant and had a strong sense of self-respect. They were up against much larger and physically stronger opponents, but they still had plenty of resources and plenty of players.

International Career

While Neymar’s international career has been littered with injuries and controversies, his status as the best player in the world is undeniable. Last season, he scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 22 games, leading to his Ligue 1 title with PSG. Son, meanwhile, scored 23 goals for Tottenham in the Premier League and finished in the top four. Though Son has not been as impressive as Neymar, he’s clearly a top-level player.
